Mark B. Hartig is a founding shareholder of McCumber Daniels and practices from the firm's Tampa and Philadelphia area offices. His areas of practice include insurance defense, professional liability defense, general liability defense, auto liability defense, commercial litigation, nursing home, hospital and medical malpractice defense litigation.

Mr. Hartig is licensed to practice law in all the State Courts of Florida, Pennsylvania, and Mississippi, as well as the Federal Courts of Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Florida and the United States 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Hartig is a Martindale Hubbell "A/V" rated lawyer, the highest rating available for legal expertise and ethics.Mr. Hartig is a graduate of the Florida State University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs in 1993. He received his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in 1997.

Mark Hartig began work as a Prosecutor with the State Attorney's Office in Plantation Key, Florida, in September of 1997. While with the State Attorney's Office in the Florida Keys, Mr. Hartig prosecuted juvenile, felony and environmental crimes. In June of 1999, Mr. Hartig transferred to the State Attorney's Office in Hillsborough County, Florida, in Tampa. While there, he prosecuted cases with the specialized drug trafficking and racketeering division. During his years with the State Attorney's Office, Mr. Hartig tried over 70 jury trials, including numerous First Degree Felony cases.

Since 2001, Mr. Hartig focused his practice on the defense of hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, and other long-term care facilities, before becoming a founding shareholder of McCumber Daniels in 2003, where he continued to focus in those areas and expanded into other insurance defense and commercial litigation matters. Mr. Hartig has obtained numerous summary judgments and dismissals on behalf of his clients, as well as favorable appellate opinions for the industries they represent. In 2005, 2006, and 2009-2011, Mr. Hartig was recognized by his peers as a "Legal Elite" as profiled in Florida Trend Magazine, as well as being recognized as a 2009 and  2011 Super Lawyers "Rising Star." In 2010, he was recognized as "Tampa Bay's Top Lawyer" by Tampa Bay Magazine.  Mr. Hartig is a frequent speaker for long term care companies regarding minimizing risk and litigation strategies.
