E. Patrick Buntz

E. Patrick Buntz is a founding partner at McCumber, Daniels, Buntz, Hartig & Puig, P.A. and practices from the firm's Tampa office.  His areas of practice include general insurance defense, nursing home, hospital and medical malpractice litigation in state and federal courts.

A graduate of Stetson University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1988, Mr. Buntz earned his Juris Doctor in 1990.  Mr. Buntz practiced with the Tampa firm of Cohen, Jayson & Foster, starting in 1993, where he gained experience litigating Plaintiff's medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability, automobile accident, professional malpractice, fraud and other personal injury civil claims together with assisting in criminal defense matters.

Mr. Buntz is a coauthor of "Integrated Health Services v. In Truth — Not That Much...," published in Mealey's Litigation Report, [Nursing Home Liability Vol.5, #1 January 2005]; and "The Knowles Saga - The Decision Is In/But How Much Impact Will Be Felt In Florida Nursing Home Litigation?" published in Andrews Nursing Home Litigation Reporter, [Volume 7, Issue 16, February 4, 2005].  Mr. Buntz has lectured on several litigation topics and was recognized by his peers as one of Florida Trend Magazine’s “Legal Elite” in 2006.

Mr. Buntz is a member of the United States Supreme Court, Florida Bar, U.S. Middle District of Florida, American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute,   Risk and Insurance Management Society, Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and Hillsborough County Bar Association. . He also is a volunteer at the "Circle of Love Center for Grieving Children at LifePath Hospice and Palliative Care" in Tampa as well as the YMCA of the Suncoast where he coaches youth sports.
