Starlett Massey Presents at FALA’s 2011 Annual Conference on Legal Update: Arbitration Agreements and Legislative Changes

Bonita Springs, Florida August 11, 2011 – Starlett M. Massey, attorney in McCumber Daniels’ Tampa office, presented “Legal Update: Arbitration Agreements and Legislative Changes” to attendees of the Florida Assisted Living Association (FALA) 2011 Annual Conference.  This presentation provided guidance to attendees to ensure that assisted living facilities utilize arbitration agreements that conform with judicially approved content and practices.  Ms. Massey also provided an overview of the legislation that passed and did not pass in the 2011 session of the Florida legislature that will affect assisted living facilities and the residents they serve.  Attendees received guidance on interpreting the new legislation and suggestions on steps their facilities can take to reduce potential liability and ensure compliance with new state laws. 

Starlett Massey is an attorney at McCumber Daniels focusing her practice on complex commercial litigation and long-term care defense.  She is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Law.  Ms. Miller is licensed to practice in the courts of Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  In addition to her litigation practice, she assists the Florida Health Care Association as a member of its Legislative Committee and is an active member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.
