Philadelphia, PA — October 15, 2010 —Stuart T. O’Neal and Marc L. Penchansky, from the Pennsylvania office of McCumber, Daniels, Buntz, Hartig & Puig, P.A., have been retained to file a Petition for Leave to File an Amicus Brief in Support of the Petition for Allowance of Appeal to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania challenging the Superior Court’s recent decision in Scampone vs. Grane Healthcare. The Scampone decision, if left unchanged, would extend corporate liability to nursing homes in Pennsylvania.
McCumber Daniels’ attorneys will request the Supreme Court’s permission to file an Amicus Brief in support of Grane’s request to have the case heard on behalf of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA). If the Supreme Court grants permission, McCumber Daniels’ will file an Amicus Brief on behalf of these organizations in support of the Supreme Court hearing this case.
