McCumber Daniels Attorney Amy Miles Presents CLE on Appellate Procedure and Practice

May 18, 2012 – Sarasota, FloridaAmy Miles, appellate practitioner and associate in the Tampa office of McCumber Daniels, presented at the Sarasota County Bar Association's Appellate Practice Section CLE seminar, "Inside the Second District:  A Presentation for Trial and Appellate Lawyers."  Amy's presentation was entitled, “What to Do After You Receive the Appellate Court's Opinion.”

The presentation covered an overview of the actions that are called for or required after the appellate court issues its opinion.  Amy discussed the procedure and practice of filing post-opinion motions, obtaining appellate attorney's fees and appellate costs, implementing the appellate opinion on remand to the trial court, and other actions necessary to close out the appellate case.  Amy also discussed avoiding potential sanctions for improper post-opinion actions, highlighting her presentation with recent opinions from Florida's District Courts of Appeal.
